My Baby Brother
My whole life I was an only child. Four years after my mom had me, she found out she had breast cancer and was never able to have kids again. I didn't mind being an only child. I mean I didn't have to share my room or toys with another kid, and I didn't have to share my parents with someone else. Even though it was nice at time, other times I sort of wished I had a younger sibling. My parents got divorced when I was eleven so then I automatically figured I would always be an only child. When I was 17, my dad informed me that him and his girlfriend were expecting. I had no idea what to say or think. I was very sad and upset at first but the longer the pregnancy went on I got more and more excited. When Owen was born, I fell in love with him. If I could go back and change the pregnancy I wouldn't because I would give the world to my baby brother if I could. Words can not describe how much I love him. I love when I come home and he comes running to the door yelling sissy with arms wide open. For only being a year and a half old, he sure does know who cares for him.

A very nice post, It made me miss my children.
ReplyDeleteAww this is such a sweet story! That is the cutest things I have ever heard. I love my younger sibilings so much, I can completely relate!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable!! In my family, I am the baby. I use to want a sibling younger than me when I was little. Now I kind of like being the baby of the family. One that that I also used to wish for when I was little was an older brother instead of an older sister. lol that never happened. I'm glad that your mother survived breast cancer, my mamaw also had breast cancer when I was younger and also survived. I can't wait for the day they find the cure for cancer.
ReplyDeleteYes Jackie, I can not wait for that day also! My mom has actually survived it twice and my grandma passed from it. Cancer is a terrible thing!
ReplyDeleteAw this is such a great story, thanks for sharing! And he sure is a cutie :) I have a little brother as well. We're 4 years apart and as different as can be! But I still love him and have always enjoyed being his big sister. It sounds like you'll be a great role model in his life!
